KATHMANDU: The investigation into the tragic death of 14-year-old Salin Pokharel is currently underway by the authorities.

Pokharel was discovered deceased, hanging in a hostel room at Shishu Niketan School in Ratnanagar Municipality-10, Chitwan.

Police have apprehended three suspects in connection with the case.

However, the post-mortem report has indicated that the cause of death was due to hanging, with no evidence suggesting rape or murder.

Despite allegations made by the deceased’s family members implicating three individuals in the crime, namely Warden Kamal Sharma Poudel (48), Principal Bal Hari Devkota (60), and Vice Principal Kiran Bahadur Adhikari (40), the investigation is ongoing.

Salin Pokharel was a student in the eighth grade at Shishu Niketan School.

She was found hanging in a room with the door locked from the inside.

Additionally, a suicide note was discovered at the scene, with evidence indicating it belonged to Salin. The note does not implicate any of the suspects.

“A preliminary investigation suggests suicide, and further inquiry is underway,” stated a police official involved in the investigation.
