Over 3,000 security personnel deployed for Shivaratri festival



KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has deployed around 3,072 security personnel on the occasion of Shivaratri festival today to ensure a safe and peaceful event for all attendees.

Dinesh Raj Mainali, spokesperson for Kathmandu Valley Police Office, outlined the measures put in place to maintain order during the festival, scheduled for today (Friday).

Starting from Thursday until March 9, the police will be keeping a close eye on proceedings using a variety of modern techniques, including drones, CCTV surveillance, and mobile patrols.

These efforts aim to proactively monitor the situation and prevent any potential security issues.

In addition, an ambulance with medical personnel will be on standby to handle any emergencies that may arise during the celebrations.

A team of 3,072 security personnel will be deployed in shifts throughout the Pashupatinath Temple area to ensure the safety and security of worshippers and visitors throughout the event.
