KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has issued directives to federal government ministers to promptly address the concerns raised by Chief Ministers regarding the implementation of federalism.

During a meeting held at Singha Durbar today, attended by Chief Ministers from all seven provinces along with members of the Council of Ministers, the PM emphasized the collective responsibility of ensuring a robust implementation of federalism.

He urged ministers to heed the worries and concerns expressed by the Chief Ministers, emphasizing the importance of taking them seriously.

PM Dahal expressed confidence in the proactive role of Chief Ministers, acknowledging their significant contribution to the successful implementation of federalism.

He underscored his government’s commitment to prioritizing this endeavor.

Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Surendra Raj Pandey, emphasized the shared responsibility of federal ministers and lawmakers in the effective implementation of federalism.

He commended the PM’s efforts in operationalizing the Korala transit point and urged swift action from the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport on key road construction projects.

Madhes Province Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav highlighted the urgent need for operational Chhoti Customs Offices along the India-Nepal border and called upon the federal government to address irrigation and drinking water challenges in the region.

He proposed joint investment projects to enhance productivity in the Tarai-Madhes region.

Karnali Province Chief Minister Raj Kumar Sharma urged a review of the delays in federalism implementation and emphasized the pressing issues of electrification, irrigation, and telecom services in the province, calling on federal ministries to address these concerns promptly.

Sudur Paschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah praised the PM’s initiatives in federalism implementation and urged federal ministers to match the level of effort.

He emphasized the need to overcome centralized mindsets hindering progress.

Bagmati Province Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel stressed the importance of federal ministries delegating rights to provinces and called on the bureaucracy to adapt to the principles of federalism.

Lumbini Province Chief Minister Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary applauded the PM’s commitment to effective federalism enforcement, emphasizing collective responsibility in this endeavor.

Koshi Province Chief Minister Kedar Karki urged ministers to embrace the PM’s vision for federalism implementation and encouraged the devolution of power to provinces.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to advancing federalism implementation and addressing the concerns voiced by Chief Ministers across the provinces.
