KATHMANDU: A meeting of the ruling coalition is currently in session at Baluwatar, where leaders are engaged in discussions aimed at addressing critical issues facing the government.

Present at the meeting are leaders representing various political parties within the ruling alliance, including the Nepali Congress, Maoist Center, Unified Socialist, Janata Samajbadi Party, and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, among others.

The primary agenda of the gathering revolves around the election of the Chairman of the National Assembly and strategizing methods to enhance the government’s effectiveness in addressing pressing national matters.

Of notable interest is the deliberation concerning the coveted post of Chairman of the National Assembly, with both the Maoist Center and Nepali Congress expressing their aspirations for the role.

It is worth mentioning that the Maoist Center had previously agreed to concede the position to the Nepali Congress ahead of the recent election.
