BRI is in national interest, former PM Khanal says



KATHMANDU: Senior leader of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has argued that China forwarded Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was in the national interest.

Talking to the media at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) upon completion his week-long trip to China, Khanal said that BRI would be supportive for Nepal’s physical infrastructure development.

He was of the view that implementation of the BRI projects should not be delayed now.

On the occasion, the former PM shared that the Chinese side talked to him about Nepal’s perception and the delay in project advancement.

In China, former Prime Minister Khanal attended a conference entitled “Understanding China”.
