KATHMANDU: The death toll from recent floods and landslides has risen to 246, according to Nepal Police.

The latest figures indicate that 18 individuals remain missing, while 178 people have sustained injuries.

Meanwhile, 139 of the deceased are from Bagmati province, including 70 from the Kathmandu Valley.

Additionally, there have been 2 fatalities reported from Lumbini province, 9 from Madhesh province, and 20 from Koshi province.

Authorities have reported that a total of 17,174 people have been rescued thus far.
