KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has stated that monsoon winds are currently affecting the Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Additionally, western winds are influencing the Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The eastern and central parts of Nepal are experiencing partial effects from a low-pressure system formed in northern West Bengal and surrounding areas.

The Division noted that this year’s monsoon has begun to retreat from many areas of Karnali Province, including the Sudurpaschim Province, as well as from several locations in western Lumbini Province as of Sunday.

Currently, the weather is partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while other regions are also experiencing partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions.

This afternoon, the forecast predicts that the weather will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with other areas remaining partly cloudy.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in a few places across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, the weather in the hilly areas of the country, including the Koshi Province, is expected to stay partly cloudy to mostly clear.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur in a few locations within Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as in some hilly areas of the remaining provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain, along with thunder and lightning, is possible in a few areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, and in one or two hilly locations in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
