IN PICS: Jagannath Rath Yatra

KATHMANDU: The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) held the 39th Jagannath Rath Yatra in Kathmandu on Sunday.

The event was inaugurated by President Ram Chandra Poudel, who pulled the chariot.

The Yatra featured bhajan, kirtan, and free prasad distribution.

ISKCON Nepal invited attendees to join the gathering, emphasizing the importance of the event.

The Vedic Sanatan Dharma holds special significance for the four dhams.

Among these, the Jagannath Puri Dham in Odisha, India, is particularly important, where thousands of devotees celebrate the Jagannath Rath Yatra.

“It is believed that whoever touches the rope of Lord Jagannath’s chariot at least once in their lifetime is considered equivalent to performing thousands of Ashwamedha Yagyas,” shared ISKCON Nepal.
