PM directs prompt rescue and relief efforts for calamity-affected citizens

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has issued directives for all relevant agencies to intensify efforts in rescuing and providing relief to citizens impacted by natural disasters.

Taking to his official Facebook account, Prime Minister Dahal expressed sorrow over the significant property damage resulting from widespread floods across the country due to continuous heavy rainfall.

He emphasized the urgency of rescuing those affected.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Dahal stated that the government is holding a meeting of the Disaster Management and Risk Reduction Committee to proactively mitigate potential landslide risks, given the forecast of heightened rainfall this year.

He also urged all citizens to undertake necessary safety measures to safeguard against foreseeable risks.
