Lawmaker Singh accuses coalition government of sheltering corrupt figures

KATHMANDU: Independent lawmaker Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh has leveled accusations against the coalition government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ alleging protection of corrupt individuals.

During a House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, lawmaker Singh asserted that the government is shielding those involved in the Bal Mandir’s land grabbing case, emphasizing the need for introspection.

Singh criticized the government, claiming it engages in self-promotion and theatrical events while allegedly safeguarding corrupt individuals and mismanaging public assets.

He specifically highlighted the recent Bansbari Shoe Factory land scam, alleging that political pressure is influencing the police investigation, leading to the potential release of the accused.

Singh accused the government of providing refuge to corrupt figures involved in the Bal Mandir land grab case, challenging it to investigate the matter. He asserted possession of historical documents from the Rana era as evidence of the misappropriation of public land at Bal Mandir.
