House of Representatives meeting in session



KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) is currently convened at the Parliament Building, New Baneswor, to address a range of pressing issues.

In today’s session, Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Dhanraj Gurung, is slated to introduce a proposal for the discussion of a bill aimed at combating money laundering and fostering a favorable business environment. Additionally, the Human Rights Committee’s report will be deliberated upon.

Furthermore, the Parliament Secretariat has disclosed an additional agenda item, proposing the passage of the aforementioned bill during the course of today’s meeting.

The HoR is also expected to pass a resolution offering condolences for the passing of Keshav Kumar Budhathoki, a central member of the Nepali Congress and a former minister.

Another significant agenda item on today’s docket is the consideration of Bill 2080, which seeks amendments to laws pertaining to money laundering prevention and business environment promotion.

As per the Parliament’s calendar, today’s session will encompass party-based discussions and a direct question-and-answer session with the Prime Minister.
