Farmer Ratan Sah cultivates vibrant cauliflowers in Siraha

SIRAHA: Ratan Sah, a farmer from Lahan Municipality-24 in Siraha, has cultivated cauliflowers in a variety of colors and flavors.

The eye-catching pink and yellow cauliflowers produced by Sah have become a sensation, drawing attention from locals and enthusiasts alike.

Reflecting on his inspiration, Sah shared, “Seven years ago, while working abroad, I came across colorful cauliflowers on the Internet. Upon returning home, I sourced cauliflower seeds from India and planted five trees for experimentation.”

He added, “The results were promising, and with a thriving market, I plan to expand my vegetable farming venture to five districts in the future.”

Sah’s cauliflowers, weighing up to a kilogram each, stand out not only for their size but also for their distinct colors and tastes.

He noted, “Due to the unique characteristics, these cauliflowers are quickly sold as soon as they hit the market. The seeds for this particular variety are approximately five times more expensive than those of other types. I have ambitious plans to increase production of such cauliflowers in the upcoming days.”

Sah sold a limited quantity of 16 kilograms of his vibrant cauliflowers at a rate of 200 per kilogram.

The demand for these colorful vegetables has attracted a surge of curious onlookers to Sah’s fields, eager to witness the unconventional beauty of the cauliflower varieties.
