Maoist Center finalizes candidates for NA election



KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoist Center has finalized its candidates for the National Assembly (NA) elections scheduled for January 25.

A meeting held on Sunday decided on six individuals to represent the party in the upcoming elections.

According to Maoist Center spokesperson Agni Sapkota, “The majority of the candidates have been confirmed. There will be a coalition meeting shortly, and the final selections will be made afterward.”

Another official revealed the list of candidates as: Champadevi Karki from Koshi, Shreekrishna Adhikari from Bagmati, Manrupa Sharma from Gandaki, Jhakku Prasad Subedi from Lumbini, Bishnu Bishwakarma from Karnali, and Renu Chand from Sudurpaschim.

As per the power-sharing agreement in the ruling coalition, Maoist Center has secured six out of the 19 seats that will be contested in the National Assembly elections. The nomination registration for the elections is scheduled to take place on Monday, January 8, with the elections set for January 25.
