Bodies of missing laborers recovered in Bhotekoshi river

CHAUTARA: The bodies of two workers who went missing after falling under descender cover slabs of the under-construction Bhotekoshi-I hydropower project in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-4 have been found.

The two workers were found dead almost 13 hours after the incident occurred at around 1:30 am on Friday.

Ramjin Tharu and Suman Tharu of Bardiya Municipality were killed when they were crushed by the descender cover slabs of the project, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Niranjan Bhattarai of the District Police Office.

Eleven others were injured in the accident with most suffering injuries to their heads, stomach and limbs. The condition of one of the injured is reported to be serious.

Some are undergoing treatment at Hospitals in Baharbise while some have been rushed to Dhulikhel.
