KATHMANDU: The Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) led by Upendra Yadav has split, with the faction led by Ashok Rai preparing to register a new party.

On Sunday, the group submitted an application to the Election Commission to establish a new party.

The division within the JSP has caused significant reverberations in the political landscape of the country, affecting both ruling and opposition parties.

In an interview with Khabarhub, Ashok Rai, the proposed Chairman of the new party, revealed that Upendra Yadav and Madhav Nepal, the Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist), were collaborating to form a new government with the Nepali Congress.

Earlier, Forest and Environment Minister Nawal Kishwor Sah, representing the faction departing from the party, also maintained that Yadav was orchestrating a significant conspiracy against the government.

“We refused to be complicit in that. He was collaborating with certain individuals to advance this scheme.”
