April 2024 By-Elections: 20 candidates in Ilam 2, 12 in Bajhang

KATHMANDU: Twenty candidates, including eight independents, have filed their candidacies in Ilam 2, while 12 candidates have registered in Bajhang for the upcoming by-election.

As per the information provided by the Election Commission, 12 candidates represent various political parties, while eight individuals are independent candidates who have submitted their nominations.

In Ilam 2, notable candidates from different political parties include Suhang Nembang from the CPN-UML, Dambur Bahadur Khadka from the Nepali Congress (NC), and Milan Limbu from the Rastriya Samajwadi Party.

Among the independent candidates are Arjun Bahadur Shahi, Keshav Kumar Chapagai, and others.

In Bajhang, 12 candidates have registered for the Provincial Assembly by-elections.

Notable candidates include Daman Bahadur Bhandari from UML, Abhishek Bahadur Singh from Nepali Congress, and Janak Budha from the Maoist Center.

These by-elections are being held following the passing of UML lawmaker Subas Chandra Nembang and NC Sudurpaschim province lawmaker Prithvi Bahadur Singh.
