Federalism became possible due to Madhes movement: Chief Minister Yadav

BIRGUNJ: The Chief Minister of Province 2, Saroj Kumar Yadav, has stated that Province 2 has played the most significant role in bringing federalism to the country.

Addressing the “Voice of Birgunj” program on Saturday, he mentioned that federalism has been implemented in the country due to the Madhes movement.

“It has been seven years since federalism was introduced in the country, but the provinces still do not feel federalism,” he said. “Even after the change in governments, there are problems in overall development in the province. While Birgunj city is providing a significant amount of revenue to the federal government, the federal government has not allocated the same budget and facilities to Birgunj.”

Member of the House of Representatives, Pradeep Yadav, accused the federal government of neglecting Birgunj, which contributes significantly to revenue collection for the country.

Birgunj Metropolitan City Mayor Rajeshman Singh criticized the federal government for not recognizing the glory of Birgunj.

Industries and businesses in Birgunj are facing a situation of power outage if the electricity supply is not continuous.

Industrialist Anil Rugta mentioned that industrialists and businessmen in the Birgunj corridor are suffering from a delicate situation.

Kulman Ghising, Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, claimed that the current electricity supply issues will be resolved within a month.
