Curfew remains in place across five local levels in Sunsari district

KATHMANDU: The curfew order, initially imposed in five local levels of Sunsari district, remains in effect on Saturday.

As per the notice issued by the District Administration Office, Sunsari, the curfew, effective from 5:00 pm on Friday, applies to Inaruwa municipality and the Hari Nagar, Devgunj, Jhokraha Narsingh, and Koshi rural municipalities.

The decision to enforce curfew aligns with Clause 6 (A) of the Local Administration Act, 2028 BS, considering the security sensitivity and the potential threat to lives and property.

The curfew will remain in place until further notice.

The imposition of curfew follows heightened tensions resulting from a clash between two local communities.
