Over 6,600 people benefit from extensive health camp in Khotang



KHOTANG: A total of 6,638 individuals have received essential healthcare services through free health camps held at 11 different locations across Khotang district, announced the Khotang Service Society.

The society organized the comprehensive health camp under the theme “Respect to Birthplace, Campaign of Volunteering for Health.”

The two-day health camp concluded on Friday, providing crucial medical assistance to local residents.

Specialized teams comprising doctors and healthcare professionals offered services including gynecology, pediatrics, general medicine, dental care, orthopedics, and gastroenterology. Additionally, free medicines were distributed to patients in need.

Dr. Pramod Rai, President of the Khotang Service Society, disclosed that the extensive health camp involved the mobilization of 130 healthcare workers, including 45 specialist doctors.

The total cost of the health camp amounted to Rs 31 million.

The health camp, spanning all 10 local levels in the district, aimed to address the healthcare needs of the community comprehensively. The inauguration of the health camp was graced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav.

The success of the extensive health camp underscores the commitment of healthcare professionals and volunteers to serve the well-being of the people in Khotang district.
