United Socialist’s Secretariat meeting underway



KATHMANDU: A Secretariat meeting of the Unified Socialist is underway at the party’s central office in Kathmandu to deliberate whether or not to join the alliance led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.

A source stated that the meeting has been convened to address the question of whether the party should engage in the alliance with the CPN-UML and the Maoist Center.

In a development on Tuesday, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli extended invitations to Unified Socialist Party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal.

The leaders urged him to join the alliance, seeking his participation in the alliance discussions.

Simultaneously, the Unified Socialist’s meeting is underway to deliberate on the same critical issue, underscoring the gravity of the decision-making process within the party.
