NC postpones ‘Congress in the Community’ campaign

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to put a halt to the remaining programs of the ‘Congress in the Community’ campaign.

Issuing a statement on Tuesday, NC Central Office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel announced the suspension of the campaign in the wake of the untimely demise of central member, former Minister of General Administration, and member of the Constitutional Assembly, Keshav Kumar Budhathoki.

The former minister passed away on February 5 while undergoing treatment at Birat Medical College in Biratnagar.

According to Paudel, the remaining programs of the ‘Congress in the Community’ campaign, scheduled until February 9, will be on hold until further information is released from the central office.

NC had announced the ‘Congress in the Community’ campaign to reach to the grassroot level of the party and listen to the expectations and grievances of the people. The campaign was started on January 27.
