PM Oli returns home completing four-day visit to China

Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli returned home today after completing a four-day official visit to the People’s Republic of China.

Leading the Nepali delegation, Prime Minister Oli had left for Beijing on December 2 for the China visit, at the friendly invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang.

While in Beijing, Prime Minister Oli met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, held bilateral talks and oversaw the signing of various agreements including a framework agreement on Belt and Road Cooperation in presence of his Chinese counterpart Li.

PM Oli: No loan agreement with China

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that no loan agreement has been made with northern neighbor China.

Speaking to journalists at Tribhuvan International Airport upon his return from a four-day visit to China, Oli clarified the matter.

“I had already mentioned during a public gathering in Durbar Marg that we are not taking loans from anywhere at the moment. I also said we are not seeking loans from China,” he said. “There has been no discussion or agreement regarding loans with China.”

Decision to contest elections independently gets positive response: Maoist Center

The Maoist Center has concluded that the party’s decision to contest the upcoming elections independently, without forming an alliance, has received widespread approval from the public.

The conclusion came after an office-bearers’ meeting held at Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s residence in Khumaltar, where the results of the recent by-elections were reviewed.

The meeting concluded that the Maoists had garnered positive public support across the country.

NPL: Janakpur Bolts defeats Pokhara Avengers by 7 wickets

Pokhara Avengers suffered their second consecutive defeat in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), while Janakpur secured their third consecutive win.

In the first match on Thursday, Janakpur defeated Pokhara by 7 wickets.

Janakpur Bolts, who remain unbeaten in their first three NPL matches, now sit at the top of the points table with 6 points.

NPL: Sudurpaschim Royals secure second consecutive win

Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Kathmandu Gurkhas by a massive 73-run margin in Thursday’s second match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket tournament. This marks Sudurpaschim’s second consecutive win in the league.

Batting first, Sudurpaschim set a target of 168 runs for the loss of six wickets.

In response, Kathmandu’s innings collapsed, managing only 94 runs in 15.5 overs.
