SAFF Women’s Championship: Nepal to face Bhutan in opening match

KATHMANDU: Nepal is poised to compete against Bhutan in its first game of the 2024 South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s Championship.

According to the schedule announced by SAFF, Nepal is assigned to Group B and will start the tournament with a match against Bhutan on October 18 at Dashrath Stadium. Group B also includes Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

Nepal’s subsequent matches will be against the Maldives on October 21 and Sri Lanka on October 24.

Defending champions Bangladesh, along with India and Pakistan, are placed in Group A.

The opening match of Group A between India and Pakistan is scheduled for October 17.

The top two teams from each group will proceed to the semi-finals, with the championship final set for October 30. The tournament will run from October 17 to October 30.
