KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges facing the Kathmandu-Tarai Expressway.

Speaking at the breakthrough ceremony for the Dhedre tunnel under the Kathmandu-Tarai Expressway on Monday, PM Oli urged relevant agencies to expedite their efforts.

“The government is dedicated to resolving the obstacles on this Expressway,” PM Oli stated.

Prime Minister Oli also highlighted that the issues surrounding Khokana land extend beyond politics.

“We recognize that Khokana land involves more than just political factors,” he noted.

Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma echoed this sentiment during the ceremony, suggesting that political interference has hindered progress on the Expressway.

Chief of Army Staff Sharma remarked, “Politics in Khokana has disrupted the Expressway project.”

Despite these challenges, Sharma expressed gratitude for the breakthrough, calling it a significant achievement. “Today’s breakthrough is a cause for celebration,” he said.
