Prime Minister Dahal holds discussions with ruling party leaders

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ held discussions with top leaders of the ruling parties on Friday. Prime Minister Dahal engaged in collective discussions with the top leaders of the ruling coalition on Friday afternoon. This comes after the CPN-UML and Janata Samajwadi Party withdrew their support for the Dahal-led government, with their ministers having already submitted their resignations. Prime Minister Dahal is now in the minority.

Madhes politics: UML to vote for CM Singh in trust motion

The CPN-UML has decided to vote for Chief Minister of Madhes Province, Satish Kumar Singh, in the confidence motion. UML Chief Whip in the Madhes Province Assembly, Hari Narayan Mahato, shared that the UML would support the Singh-led Province government. Chief Minister Singh is scheduled to face vote of confidence in the Province Assembly at 11:00 am Saturday, according to the Province Assembly Secretariat.

Investigation reveals Rs 630 million loan to companies linked to GB Rai and Minister Rabi Lamichhane

A parliamentary probe panel investigating a cooperative fraud case has discovered that the company linked to GB Rai and current Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane received Rs 630 million in loans from the Pokhara-based Supreme Cooperative. Surya Thapa, the coordinator of the probe committee, confirmed the information. According to Thapa, Gorkha Media, where Home Minister Lamichhane was once involved, received Rs 109.9 million.

PM Dahal to face floor test on July 12

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will undergo a floor test in the federal parliament on Friday, July 12. This decision comes after the CPN-UML withdrew from the government on Wednesday, leading to Prime Minister Dahal seeking a vote of confidence. The government’s stability was compromised when the coalition partner, CPN-UML, and the main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), agreed to form a new coalition under UML Chairman KP Oli’s leadership.

Unified Socialist General Convention: Office bearers and central members sworn in

Newly elected office bearers and central members of the CPN-Unified Socialist have been sworn in Nepal Academy, Kathmandu on Friday. Madhav Nepal was unanimously elected as the party chairman, Jhala Nath Khanal as the esteemed leader, and Ghanashyam Bhusal as the general secretary during their 10th General Convention on Thursday. Additionally, 93 central committee members were announced on Friday.

RSP dispute: Mukul Dhakal labels suspension undemocratic and unlawful

Mukul Dhakal, the suspended General Secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has alleged that he was suspended without being given a chance to clarify himself. The central committee meeting on Wednesday suspended Dhakal from his responsibilities as General Secretary and Spokesperson for seven days. Dhakal stated that the suspension process did not align with the established procedures and democratic values, accusing the action of being malicious as the explanation he submitted was not even considered.

28 people killed due to monsoon-related disasters so far

Since the beginning of the monsoon season in Nepal, 28 people have lost their lives, one person is missing, and 25 others have been injured due to various monsoon-related disasters this year. During today’s National Assembly meeting, Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Security Dol Prasad Aryal responded to questions raised during the discussion under the Appropriation Bill, 2081. He reported that 46 houses were completely damaged, and 36 houses were partially damaged due to the monsoon disasters.
