Education Minister Shrestha accuses Oli of govt change attempt over teacher actions

KATHMANDU: Education Minister Sumana Shrestha has accused CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli of attempting to change the government when she tried to take action against teachers involved in politics.

In a Facebook post mentioning Oli by name, Minister Shrestha stated, “Respected KP Ba! You claimed that the SEE results were not good because the teachers did not teach well. When I tried to take action against those teachers involved in politics, you attempted to change the government.”

Recently, at a program in Butwal, UML Chair Oli had remarked that the teachers did not teach the students well, leading to unsatisfactory SEE results.

In a related political development, CPN-UML and Nepali Congress have formed an alliance to oust the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and establish a new administration.
