KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Barshaman Pun has claimed that the budget for the upcoming fiscal year is based on realistic grounds.
Addressing queries about the recently introduced budget at the parliament meeting on Wednesday, Finance Minister Pun asserted that the next fiscal year has been designated as a year of economic reforms, aimed at creating employment opportunities and increasing production to support a robust and uplifting economy.
“The economy is gradually becoming more active, and as the morale of the private sector improves, more investable capital will be mobilized from the financial sector. Additionally, further foreign investment will be secured based on the commitments made at the recently concluded investment conference,” said Minister Pun.
He further clarified that an economic growth rate of 6 percent is achievable with the proper implementation of the policies and programs outlined in the budget.
Minister Pun also assured that there would be no shortage of resources and funds for National Pride Projects and other high-priority projects in the upcoming fiscal year.
