Triangle project vital for national development: PM Dahal

POKHARA: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has underscored the importance of the triangle project, stating that it will mark a significant and historical milestone for the nation.

Speaking at a program organized by the CPN-Maoist Center Gandaki Province in Pokhara today, Prime Minister Dahal highlighted that policies, programs, and the budget for the upcoming fiscal year are being formulated to make a substantial contribution to the development of the provinces.

The budget presented by the federal government for the fiscal year 2024/25 prioritizes the transformation of agriculture, development of energy and information technology, promotion of tourism, entrepreneurship, and industrial growth.

Prime Minister Dahal emphasized the development of Bharatpur, Butwal, and Pokhara as part of the triangle project, labeling it as crucial and historic for the nation’s progress.

Furthermore, he announced that the construction of the 1,002 MW-Budhi Gandaki Project and the 42 MW-Modi ‘A’ hydropower project would commence, bringing long-term benefits to the country’s energy sector.

Additionally, the government plans to facilitate pilgrims’ visits to major religious sites by operating the Muktinath Darshan transport service, aiming to establish Gandaki province as a prominent tourism hub.

In terms of physical infrastructure, Prime Minister Dahal highlighted the government’s commitment to completing the Muglin-Pokhara road expansion and upgrading the Butwal-Pokhara road section to a dedicated two-lane road.

He also mentioned various programs aimed at preserving and promoting the history, culture, language, and civilization of Bandipur.

Expressing his confidence, Prime Minister Dahal revealed plans to establish a medical college in Pokhara, upgrade the Pokhara Provincial Hospital to a 500-bed facility, and initiate the operation of different industries, including the Gorakhkali Rubber Industry, through public-private partnerships.

He emphasized that these initiatives would hold significant importance for the province’s development.
