NEPSE experiences significant drop of over 70 points on Tuesday



KATHMANDU: The share market, which had been closed three times in a positive circuit until yesterday, witnessed a significant drop today with a decline of more than 70 points.

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped by 70.31 points to 2007.69 points, a decrease of 2.91%.

Today, mutual fund, along with all other sectors, faced a decline.

Shares of insurance groups, manufacturing and processing, hotel and tourism, development bank, and hydropower groups experienced a notable decrease.

Among the companies, Bottlers Nepal Balaju and Joshi Hydropower witnessed a 10% decline in their shares on the day the market observed a drop.

Overall, Gurans Microfinance witnessed a significant increase of more than 8% on the day the market faced a drop.

Although the market experienced a decline, the trading volume today recorded a notable increase.

A total of 11,400,000 shares were traded at Rs 4,113,600,000.

The most notable transaction of the day was the sale of shares of Sonapur Minerals and Oil Company, amounting to Rs 419,100,000.
