Teenage girl killed in Morang



KATHMANDU: The town of Pathari Shanishchare-7 in Morang district was shattered by a horrific incident on Monday night, as a 15-year-old girl fell victim to a brutal murder.

The victim, identified as Gyanu Kumari Rai, resided with her maternal uncle’s son, Daj Binod Rai, in Lama Tole, Pathari Shanishchare-7.

Rai, a seventh-grader at Panchayat Secondary School, met a tragic end in a merciless attack.

According to police reports, Rai was viciously killed around 10 pm on Monday night while on her way to the toilet.

The assailant wielded a sharp weapon, resulting in her throat being slit in a heinous act of violence.

The motive behind the murder and the identity of the perpetrator remain shrouded in mystery, leaving the community in shock and disbelief.

Family members alerted the authorities after discovering the victim fighting for her life. Tragically, by the time the report reached the police, Rai had succumbed to her injuries.

An official involved in the investigation revealed that the nature of the murder suggests careful planning, deepening the gravity of the situation.
