All four ministers of RSP resigning today

KATHMANDU: All four ministers from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda-led government are resigning today.

RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, who serves as the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister; Dol Prasad Aryal, Minister of Labor and Employment; Sumana Shrestha, Minister of Education; and Birajbhakta Shrestha, Minister of Youth and Sports, are tendering their resignations.

Acting Spokesperson of RSP, Manish Jha, confirmed their decision, stating, “Today, all four of our ministers will resign.”

This development follows the resignation of CPN-UML ministers on Wednesday evening.

The political dynamics shifted after CPN-UML agreed to form a power-sharing arrangement with the Nepali Congress, breaking its alliance with the Maoist Center.

Consequently, the current government, led by PM Dahal, now faces a minority status.

Amid internal party disputes, the ruling RSP’s decision to withdraw from the government reflects the ongoing political realignment sparked by the recent power-sharing agreements.
