KATHMANDU: Nepal secured a commanding six-wicket victory over West Indies ‘A’ in the final match of the T20 series, with an over to spare.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, West Indies ‘A’ set a target of 173 runs, losing seven wickets in the process.
In pursuit of the target, Nepal showcased a strong batting performance, reaching 173 runs for the loss of four wickets in the 19th over.
Although West Indies ‘A’ had already claimed the series with a 3-2 lead, this victory serves as a consolation for Nepal.
Anil Sah and Aasif Sheikh starred with half-centuries, scoring 58 and 51 runs respectively, while Kushal Malla contributed 37 runs to the team’s total.
During the first innings, Nepal’s bowling attack was led by Sagar Dhakal and Sompal Kami, each securing three wickets, while Abhinash Bohara added one to the tally.
On the batting front for West Indies ‘A’, Roston Lamar Chase and Roston Lamar Chase both contributed 33 runs, accompanied by Johnson Charles with 24 runs and Matthew Walter Forde adding 23 runs to the team’s total.
