KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala emphasized the necessity for his party and the CPN-UML to form alliance to ensure stability and development in the country.
Speaking with journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Thursday, he underscored the importance of the two major parties joining forces for the nation’s prosperity.
Dr. Koirala expressed his opinion that economic development is unattainable under the current coalition government.
He reiterated the vital need for a stable government.
Koirala recalled that the drafting and promulgation of the constitution had only been possible when the UML and NC collaborated.
He expressed the belief that if the goal is to advance the country, there is no substitute for the unity of NC and UML.
On another matter, NC leader Koirala asserted that the Koshi government was not in the minority and did not presently require a vote of confidence.
