KATHMANDU: Four parties constituting the new ruling coalition reached a consensus on eight points, solidifying their commitment to a shared vision for governance.

On Monday evening, the top leaders of CPN-UML, Maoist Center, Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Janata Samajwadi Party sealed the agreement.

According to the accord, the formation of a new government involving all four parties is imminent, with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda set to lead the charge.

Furthermore, the agreement designates roles for key positions, indicating that the National Assembly Speaker will be from the Maoist Center, while the Vice Chair will come from the CPN-UML.

The coalition parties have also pledged to expand the cabinet through mutual consensus, fostering cooperation and inclusivity in decision-making.

Addressing critical issues, the pact outlines commitments to address transitional justice, conclude the peace process through consensus, formulate laws pertaining to the implementation of federalism, and establish a common minimum program that aligns with the goals of all participating parties in the government.

This effort has also marked a crucial step towards stability and effective governance, highlighting the collective determination of the coalition to address key national concerns.
