PM Dahal holds 21 ministries



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has relieved all ministers of their duties in the government and taken charge of 21 ministries on Monday.

PM Dahal, who formed a new ruling coalition with support from CPN-UML, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Janata Samajbadi Party along with his own party CPN-Maoist Center, and has freed all ministers from their positions.

Although three ministers from the new coalition took oaths in the government on Monday, they are not assigned any responsibilities.

Hit Bahadur Tamang from the Maoist Center, Padam Giri from the UML, and Dol Prasad Aryal from RSP took their oaths on Monday evening.

According to the President’s office, Prime Minister Dahal himself has assumed all ministerial responsibilities for the time being.
