KATHMANDU: In a latest political development, Padam Giri from the CPN-UML party is poised to assume a ministerial role in the upcoming cabinet reshuffle, marking the first phase of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s strategic changes.

While the specific portfolio for Giri is still under consideration, the move underscores a broader effort to reorganize the cabinet, incorporating parties such as CPN-UML, Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Janata Samajwadi Party.

UML leader Surendra Pandey confirmed Giri’s decision to take the oath as a minister in the initial phase, emphasizing that the finalization of the ministry assignment is pending.
