32 injured as bus traveling from Birgunj to Pokhara plunges into river

DAMAULI: A tragic road accident occurred in Mauribazaar of Myagde rural municipality-6 on the Prithviraj highway this morning, leaving 32 individuals injured.

The passenger bus (Ba. Pra. 03-001 Kha. 1206), en route from Birgunj to Pokhara, lost control and veered off the road, ultimately falling into the river below, as reported by Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Bahadur Khand of District Police Office Tanahun.

Among the injured, one individual is reported to be in critical condition, while 14 others are in moderate condition. The remaining individuals are reported to be in normal condition.

The victims include the bus driver, 34-year-old Antim Sunar of Lumle, Annapurna Rural Municipality-6, Kaski, and his assistant, Sagar Shrestha, 32, of Shuklagandaki Municipality-6, Tanahun.

Rescue and relief efforts are underway, and the injured are receiving medical attention. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident as the community rallies to support those affected by this unfortunate incident.
