Mayor Balen Shah administers oath to New Ward 16 chair Rojina Shrestha



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah administered the oath of office and secrecy to Rojina Shrestha, the newly elected Chairperson of Ward 16, during a ceremony held at the Metropolitan City office today.

Shrestha, representing the Rastriya Swatanrta Party, secured her position in the local by-election held on December 1, winning with 2,902 votes out of the 10,376 votes counted. Ward 16, which contains prominent areas like Thamel, Nayabazaar, and Balaju, has a total voter population of 21,025.

Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol, Spokesperson Naveen Manandhar, Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain, and other officials attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Following her oath, Shrestha is set to assume office and begin her duties as Ward Chairperson today.
