NA members demand investigation into alleged irregularities in MEC results



KATHMANDU: During a meeting of the National Assembly (NA) today, lawmakers voiced concerns over alleged irregularities in the Medical Education Commission (MEC) examination results, calling for an investigation to uncover the facts.

Speaking during the zero hour session, several members stated that the revealed details suggest irregularities in the results, which should be addressed through a thorough investigation.

Krishan Prasad Paudel accused the MEC of negligence in handling the results, while Goma Devi Timilsina stated that the disclosed reports are sufficient to question the credibility of the exam.

Bhuwan Bahadur Sunuwar called for an investigation into the alleged anomalies in medical education and stressed that action should be taken if the irregularities are confirmed.

He also urged the government to inform the House about the facts surrounding the recent controversial statement by the Minister for Communications and Information Technology regarding the police chief.

Narayana Datta Mishra highlighted that Nepali citizens are stranded at airports in Brazil and Russia, expressing concern over the situation.

Madan Kumari Shah brought attention to the issue of Nepali citizens being unlawfully recruited into the Russian military, with 40 Nepalis reportedly losing their lives so far.

She demanded that the government take prompt action to save the lives of those Nepalis who have joined the Russian army.

Yubaraj Sharma urged the government to prioritize police adjustments to strengthen the federal system.
