Sagar Pandey elected President of Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN)

KATHMANDU: Sagar Pandey has been elected as the President of the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN), the umbrella organization representing trekking entrepreneurs in the country.

Pandey’s election took place during the 46th annual general assembly of TAAN held on Monday.

With over three decades of experience in the mountain tourism industry, Pandey is expected to bring significant expertise to the role.

Alongside Pandey, Karma Sherpa was elected as the Senior Vice-President, Bishnu Prasad Lamsal as the First Vice-President, Sanam Sherpa as the Second Vice-President, and Sonam Gyaljen Sherpa as the General Secretary, according to outgoing General Secretary Binod Sapkota.

Additionally, Rinzi Jangbu Sherpa was elected as Secretary, Gautam Raj Wagle as Treasurer, and Lakpa Tenba Sherpa as Joint Treasurer.

In the women’s category, Pabitra Tamang was elected as a member, while Ambir Bahadur Gurung, Binod Kumar Tamang, Hom Bahadur Bishwokarma, Phurpu Chhiring Lhomi (Bhote), Bikas Gurung, Sagar Rai, Chhapte Lama, and Raju Gurung were also elected as members of TAAN.
