Former IGPs call for action against Communication Minister Gurung

KATHMANDU: The Former Police Organization Chief Forum has urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to take action against Communication Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the forum expressed serious concern over Minister Gurung’s use of language during a public event, where he reportedly stated that “the tongue of the Inspector General of Nepal Police should be cut off.” The forum emphasized that such remarks violate the principle of freedom of expression.

Minister Gurung made the controversial statement during a public event in Pokhara on Saturday. The forum has demanded a formal apology from the Minister and has called on Prime Minister Oli to take appropriate action against him.

In response to the concerns raised about Minister Gurung’s remarks, Prime Minister Oli urged public figures to be mindful of their word choices when speaking.
