Karnali CM Kandel to take vote of confidence on Monday

KATHMANDU: Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yamlal Kandel, is scheduled to take a vote of confidence on Monday.

Chief Minister Kandel has submitted a letter requesting arrangements for the vote, according to the Secretariat of the Provincial Assembly.

CM Kandel will be taking the vote of confidence as per Article 118 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.

This will be the second time CM Kandel takes a vote of confidence during his tenure.

The change was prompted by the CPN (Maoist Center) withdrawing its support for the government led by CM Kandel following a change in the central government.

Consequently, he now seeks a vote of confidence to form a new government with the support of the Nepali Congress (NC).

Meanwhile, the NC in Karnali has recommended four individuals to be inducted into the government led by Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel.
