LSP decides to support NC-UML alliance

KATHMANDU: The Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) has decided to support the Nepali Congress (NC)-UML coalition.

According to LSP leader Sarbendranath Shukla, the meeting, held at the party office in Babarmahal today, decided to back the new coalition.

Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur briefed the meeting about the recent developments and his discussion with NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba yesterday.

While the decision to support the coalition has been made, Shukla stated that no decision has been taken yet regarding joining the government.

“There has been no formal discussion with NC and UML about joining the government. However, we have decided to support them as they have raised issues including constitutional amendments,” he said.

He added that further discussions with the major parties will take place as the process of forming the new government progresses.
