Bishwaprakash Sharma asks Lamichhane: Who is stopping you from opening corruption files?

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwaprakash Sharma has challenged Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane to continue his efforts against corruption.

Responding to Lamichhane’s claim that the new alliance between NC and CPN-UML was formed to prevent the investigation of corruption issues, Sharma urged the Home Minister to persist in exposing corruption as long as he remains in power.

Speaking to the media after the NC Work Executive Committee meeting held at President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha on Wednesday, Sharma emphasized that the upcoming government must take strong measures against corruption.

On Tuesday, Lamichhane had alleged that the coalition shifted because he started exposing corruption.

“Some might think that opening corruption files led to their removal from the government. But isn’t the Home Minister still in office?” Sharma questioned. “He might remain Home Minister until tonight, depending on whether the Prime Minister resigns. If not, he might stay for another month.”
