KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is taking place today at the party’s central office in Banasthali, Kathmandu.

Joint General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti stated that today’s agenda includes a thorough discussion on the review report submitted by General Secretary Mukul Dhakal to Chairman Rabi Lamichhane last Wednesday.

General Secretary Dhakal conducted an extensive review of the party’s activities across 38 districts of the country.

In his report, he emphasized the critical issues that, if not addressed seriously, could jeopardize the party’s electoral prospects in the upcoming 2084 BS elections.

Dhakal has proposed to Chairman Lamichhane to telecast today’s Central Committee meeting live, underlining the transparency and importance of the discussions to be held.

Additionally, the meeting will deliberate on recent political developments in the country, responding to the evolving landscape notably impacted by the new Nepali Congress and CPN-UML equation and its implications on the government formation process.

On Tuesday, the party affirmed its stance to remain in the current government until the initiation of the new government formation process.

The party, which currently holds four ministerial positions in the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, reiterated its readiness to adapt to the evolving political scenario as discussions progress.
