Six makeup tips for flawless look during monsoon

KATHMANDU: Rainy days are super fun but they also come with a set of challenges especially when you have to maintain your flawless makeup.

However, excessive humidity and unexpected rains can make your makeup look messy.

So, it is important to keep certain tips to keep your makeup look flawless. Here are a few tips you can follow for smudge-proof makeup every time you step out this monsoon.

Light makeup

It’s true that during the monsoon season, it is always better to opt for light make-up. Instead of prepping your skin with thick and heavy formulations and creams, use light, water-based serums and moisturisers.

You can opt for skin tints, which can cause less cracking in the base, look very natural, and give a perfect look.

Use primer

A good primer act as a protective shield between your skin and makeup.

Choose a silicone-based primer to fill in fine wrinkles and pores and to create a smooth canvas that will hold your makeup in place.

This will help prevent smudging, even when you are stuck in a sudden downpour.

Light foundation

Nobody likes to deal with skin issues like blocked pores, acne, or dull skin. It’s better to avoid a thick foundation for the season and instead use a lighter, more breathable mix.

Oil-free tinted moisturisers provide excellent coverage without feeling heavy on the face.

Use mattifying products

Matte cosmetics might help to reduce oiliness on your skin. Choose a matte-finish foundation, blush, and lipstick to keep your makeup in place.

Later, brush some mattifying powder onto your face to seal in your base. This step will absorb any extra moisture and make your makeup melt-proof.

Go for waterproof eye makeup

Change your ordinary mascara and liquid eyeliner with waterproof versions.

These products are specifically designed to tolerate humidity and wetness, ensuring that your eye makeup lasts throughout the day.

Opt for transfer-proof lipstick

Nobody wants to see smeared marks from your preferred lipstick on your teeth or chin!

Avoid using lip gloss or cream-based lipsticks on wet days since they smear easily. Ultra-matte, smudge-proof lip liquids that dry quickly are the best choice.
