Heavy rain alert issued for Bagmati and other provinces

Authorities advise precautionary measures against possible disasters



KATHMANDU:  The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a warning as monsoon winds intensify across the nation.

According to the latest update, weather conditions have escalated from mild to severe in various provinces.

Currently, Bagmati, Madhesh, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and parts of Sudurpaschim provinces are experiencing scattered showers accompanied by lightning.

Throughout this afternoon, the weather is expected to be cloudy nationwide, with widespread possibilities of moderate rain and lightning strikes.

Furthermore, heavy rainfall is anticipated in isolated areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in a few spots in Karnali Province.

Tonight, cloudy conditions will persist nationwide, with chances of moderate rain and lightning in certain areas.

Given the potential for very heavy rainfall in parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, the Department has advised precautionary measures against possible disasters such as landslides, flash floods, and erosion.
