Two passengers die as river sweeps away jeep in Ilam

ILAM: Two people died when a jeep they were traveling in was swept away by a river in Ilam.

According to the police, the incident occurred in Chulachuli Rural Municipality-5, where a jeep was washed away by the Ratuwa River.

The Bolero jeep was traveling from Larumba in Ilam to Damak when it was swept away.

Police Chief of District Police Office Ilam, SP Prabhu Dhakal, stated that the bodies of a child and a woman were found in the jeep.

It is not yet clear how many people were in the jeep at the time of the incident.

A police team has arrived at the scene and is conducting search and rescue operations.
