Cabinet reshuffle likely: Ranjita Shrestha set to become Tourism Minister

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”, is gearing up for a cabinet reshuffle, aiming to incorporate the Nagarik Unmukti Party into the government.

Sources revealed that PM Dahal is set to appoint Ranjita Shrestha, Chairperson of Nagarik Unmukti Party, as the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation.

Currently, the position of Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation is held by Hit Bahadur Tamang of the Maoist Center.

However, insider reports from Baluwatar suggest that Tamang will transition into a Minister Without Portfolio once Shrestha assumes the tourism portfolio.

Ranjita Shrestha, elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Kailali-1, has neither confirmed nor denied her impending ministerial role.

When asked about her potential appointment as Minister of Tourism, she responded to Khabarhub assertively, “If there is such a report, then say yes.”
