KATHMANDU: Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balen Shah has asked CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Oli to refrain from resorting to further scandals to cover up the 100 million scandal in Giribandhu Tea estate.

Accusing individuals of taking advances from people by promising land from Giribandhu Tea Estate in Jhapa within two years, Mayor Balen emphasized the need to focus on constructive endeavors instead of diverting attention with scandals.

He objected to the resumption of road construction on footpaths initiated by the metropolis on New Road, urging Oli to utilize his influence to advance projects like the Ring Road and Butwal-Chitwan road.

Mayor Balen asserted that not a single leaf would stir at Giribandhu Tea Estate without Oli’s knowledge, reflecting on Oli’s involvement in the political scam concerning the plantation.

He urged timely justice for the victims of Giribandhu Tea Estate, warning of potential intervention if justice is delayed.
